flexiVent (Scireq Inc) is an integrated platform combining computer-controlled ventilator with data acquisition & analysis for detailed measurement of respiratory mechanics in subjects from under 10g to over 45kg.

During ventilation, the movement of the precision pump and the opening/closing of air valves are precisely co-ordinated.

Respiratory mechanics are calculated from the data collected during a "perturbation" (a highly specific oscillatory flow or volume waveform).
