The plethysmograph alongside was developed for researchers in a CNS research unit. The main difference compared to the standard plethysmograph is the increased height, which ensures that the rat is not prevented from performing certain characteristic behaviors, such as standing on its hind legs. Data obtained from these animals are more reliable when interpreting behavioral patterns.
